Pipe Dream Moab

Last year October this trail did not exist, and I was pleasantly surprised to have a +10 mile singletrack at my doorstep. I did the Pipe Dream all the way, from Hidden Valley to Aspen Street  and back. Having the smell of Burger King follow me all the way was not easy, knowing that it would only be a 5 min detour to add Burger King or McDonalds to the trail. Hidden Valley onto Moab Rim Trail 2011

The Hidden Valley onto Moab Rim is one of my Moab favorites. Moab Rim Trail via Hidden Valley Moab

I have done this beauty numerous times, and it is actually one of my favorite Moab rides. However, I much prefer this ride starting at the East side, at Hidden Valley [ opposite to the map below ] . This means you start the trail with a 30 min. brutal portage, but you end the trail with an absolute mental downhill. Trail Stats & Information Nearby City: Moab Length: about 14.3 miles Trail Type: Loop or Out & Back Skill Level: Technically extremely difficult to downright abusive. … [Read more...]
