Mountain Bike Trails USA | the best mtb trails in the USA

The Highline Trail Sedona

. This is the first ever ride in the USA that I have not done solo. For this ride I needed a guide, 'cos there is no way I could have otherwise experienced this trail. Although once on the Highline Trail, it is easy to follow, but finding this trail as an "outsider" would be almost impossible. Luckily for me, and for anyone else visiting, Sedona has a fantastic self confessed Mtb Ambassador who is more than willing to take you "on a ride" ( in the good sense) I would really like to thank … [Read more...]

Sovereign Trail Moab

. This is the first time I have actually ridden the Sovereign Trail, although I have been to the trailhead twice before, but each time it was too busy for my liking. They say the first time is always the best, but in this case I'm not so sure. Just  minutes from finishing the trail I produced the "Mother of all Endo's" , Endo'in off a 4 ft legdge  and finishing the Sovereign Trail by cracking my Sternum as a souvenir  ... Luvly Jubly !! . Slickrock Trail Moab 2010

. . The Slickrock Trail is THE Trail that put Moab on the map, and is probably the worlds most famous trail. Mountain Bikers from around the globe travel to Moab to ride the Slickrock Trail. There is no doubt that the Slickrock Trail is as fantastic as it is unique, but it is a trail that I have done numerous times, and I never get very exited about the thought of riding the Slickrock Trail. The crowds on this trail can be unbearable, and on a busy day, there are actual waiting lines … [Read more...]

The Amasa Back Trail Moab

. If planed well, and with a bit of luck, the Amasa Back Trail in Moab could become your all time favorite trail ever. I say this, because this trail can be unbearably busy on weekends / holidays, and this will definitely put a damper on things. However, if you can get an early start on a weekday, this trail will be yours, and believe me, it will blow your mind. The highest danger factor on this trail, is the scenery, it's almost impossible to keep your eyes on the trail. . Trail Stats … [Read more...]

Moab Rim Campark Mountain Bikers Choice

. I have been staying at Moab Rim Campark for 4 years running, always through the month of October. Although everyone is welcome at Moab Rim Campark, mountain bikers will especially feel at home here. If you are looking for a resort, or heated swimming pool, or air conditioned outdoor mini golf, then this is not the place for you, however if you are looking to stay somewhere with an adventurous feel, somewhere that offers stunning views, and somewhere that is mountain bike friendly, then … [Read more...]

The Portal Trail Moab

. The Portal Trail in Moab is known to be the most deadliest trail in the USA, is this justified or is it just a hype? I have done this trails numerous times, either looping the Poison Spider Mesa Trail, or as a Point to Point coming up Gold Bar Rim Trail. So, is the Portal Trail really as scary & dangerous as everyone makes out?... Is the Portal Trail dangerous ? YES Is the Portal Trail Deadly ? If you fall on certain section of this Trail then definitely. Is the … [Read more...]

Hidden Valley onto Moab Rim Trail

. The Hidden Valley onto Moab Rim is one of my Moab favorites. This trail offers fantastic scenery, a very remote feeling without being remote ( if anything goes wrong, it's no more than a 1.5 hour walk to civilization). The Hidden Valley onto Moab Rim trail offers everything the big trails offer, such as Porcupine. The trail can be looped, or as an out and back. This trail offers the longest and steepest slickrock downhill section, almost a mile of solid mental 22 percent … [Read more...]

Cold Creek to Star Lake to Armstrong Pass down Corral Trail

. A few days a did the Heavenly Valley from Stagecoach to Armstrong Pass, it was a slaughter, but the downhill section from Freel Pass all the way down Armstrong was probably the best ride / section I have ever done. I did not want to leave Lake Tahoe without enjoying this section one more time.  However, there was no way I wanted to get slaughtered again on the Stagecoach to Freel Pass section, so I decided on a different route that was hopefully gonna be slightly, or even better a hell of … [Read more...]
